Advice & Information
We operate an Advice and Information Service which is free, independent and confidential to older people, their relatives, carers and friends.We provide information on issues affecting older people such as welfare benefits, community care, leisure and health.
 

What can we do to help you?

• Advise you about checking your entitlements to Welfare Benefits
• Assist you to fill out benefit (and other) forms
• Liaise with other agencies to help you access services
• Signpost you to other organisations and services
• If we cannot answer your query we will try and put you in touch with people who may be able to help you
• We have a wide range of factsheets on a number of issues and topics
• Make home visits in exceptional circumstances or when the older person is housebound
• Every year we campaign in various ways for 'Your Rights Week' and keep you up to date with all Benefit and Pension information.

Early Intervention Service
The early Intervention service is for people recently diagnosed with dementia or in the process of getting diagnosed. 

It can also help individuals to access a formal diagnosis if they are worried about the symptoms of dementia.

Escorted Discharge Service
Our Escorted Discharge Service is designed to assist hospital discharge and enable you to regain skills and confidence at home following an accident, illness or stay in hospital.

The services use trained workers to:

• Ensure a comfortable safe discharge from hospital
• Ensure that immediate and short term needs are met
• provide a single point of contact should you encounter problems in the immediate post discharge period
• Build confidence

On discharge from hospital we can:

• Shop for essentials
• Notify friends and family that you are home
• Refer you to other services that might beneficial to you including our other services and other agencies
• Make sure that your house is safe and that all essentials (heating, lighting, water etc.) are working

Befriending service
Our volunteers offer companionship and support through reguslar home visits or phone calls.  Get peace of mind knowing your older relative or friend will be receiving a regular call.  For more details call:  020 8220 6000

Falls Prevention

Pavement Scooters can travel up to 4 mph. Road Scooters with larger wheels and stronger batteries can cope with rougher terrain and travel up to 8 mph.

Powerchairs & electric wheelchairs provide independence and freedom. Suited to indoor and outdoor use, they can often be customised to the individual's needs.

We also provide service and repairs.

4. Riser Chairs

Single Motor Rise Recliner Chairs help you get out of your chair and recline to raise your legs. 

Double Motor chairs recline fully & provide more flexible seating positions.

5. Bathing Lifts & Aids

Designed to lower you to the bottom of the bath, and back again, Bath Lifts are battery operated and controlled by a remote control handset which is safe to use in the water.

As well as a range of bath lifts we have a full selection of home aids to help make life easier.
